AwardBroker

AwardBroker terms of service

Effective October 11, 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and Award Brokers, Inc. (“AwardBroker”, “we” or “us”). They cover the AwardBroker website, the AwardBroker Chrome extension, and the emails and support that come with them (together, the “service”). You agree to these terms when you sign in. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

The privacy policy explains what AwardBroker collects, why, and how long it keeps it.

Who can use AwardBroker

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract. To list or buy an award, you need your own World of Hyatt account, in your own name. Each person may have one AwardBroker account. You can't use the service if AwardBroker has suspended or closed your account, or where the law doesn't allow it.

What AwardBroker does

AwardBroker shows Hyatt awards that members have listed, each with an asking price, and runs a live checkout where the buyer and the seller each connect their own Hyatt account. With the extension, AwardBroker checks members' awards with Hyatt, shows when it last checked, and fills in Hyatt's gift form when the seller asks it to.

AwardBroker isn't a party to the sale between members. It doesn't own, issue or hold awards. It never holds or moves money, and it never sends a gift: the seller presses Send Award in Hyatt. AwardBroker doesn't ask for Hyatt passwords and doesn't keep full certificate codes.

A check shows what Hyatt reported at the time of the check. It doesn't reserve an award, and it doesn't tell you who the other member is.

Hyatt

AwardBroker is independent of Hyatt. Hyatt doesn't sponsor or endorse AwardBroker. Awards belong to Hyatt's World of Hyatt program, and Hyatt's terms govern them. Hyatt can change those terms, its website and its gift rules at any time, and parts of the service may stop working as a result.

Hyatt's terms restrict selling or bartering awards without Hyatt's permission. Hyatt may cancel awards, remove points or close the accounts of members who take part in a transfer it doesn't allow. Hyatt also limits how often an award can be gifted and how many gifted awards a member can receive. Read Hyatt's terms before you list or buy an award, and decide for yourself. You take that risk. AwardBroker can't restore an award, points or an account that Hyatt cancels, and it can't refund a payment you made to another member.

A gift in Hyatt can't be undone. Once the seller presses Send Award, neither AwardBroker nor the seller can take it back.

Your account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address, with Google, or with Facebook. Anyone who can read your email, or sign in to a Facebook account you've connected, can sign in as you, so keep those accounts to yourself. You're responsible for what happens in your AwardBroker account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us at the address at the end of these terms.

Your AwardBroker account is tied to the first Hyatt account it checks. You can't switch to a different Hyatt account later, and a Hyatt account can be connected to only one AwardBroker account. Connect only a Hyatt account that's yours.

You can connect a Facebook account to your AwardBroker account. Connect only your own. While it's connected, you can also sign in with it, and your Facebook first name, last initial and profile photo appear with your listings and in your checkouts, in place of your anonymous member name. A Facebook account can be connected to only one AwardBroker account.

AwardBroker sends sign-in codes and checkout emails to your email address. You agree to receive them electronically.

The extension

Listing an award and checking out need Chrome on a computer with the AwardBroker extension. You may install the extension and use it with the service.

The extension acts only after you give consent and grant it access to hyatt.com. It reads your Hyatt profile and awards while you use AwardBroker. When you ask it to, it fills in Hyatt's gift form. It never presses Send Award for you. You can disconnect Hyatt at any time from the account menu. The privacy policy describes what the extension reads and sends.

You're responsible for your Hyatt account and for every gift you send from it.

Listing an award

When you list an award, you confirm that:

Your payment details are shown to your buyers. Put only instructions there, such as a payment handle. Never put passwords, card numbers or bank credentials in them.

A listing stays on the table until its award expires, you unlist it, or a check finds the award gone or changed. Once its last check is more than 24 hours old, it's marked stale, and a buyer must confirm they understand that before starting a checkout. AwardBroker may pause or remove any listing.

Buying an award

When you start a checkout, you confirm that you intend to buy the award at the listed price. You also agree that:

How a checkout works

Starting a checkout holds the listing for 60 minutes. Until the buyer presses I've paid, either member can cancel, and if the 60 minutes run out first, the checkout expires. The buyer can undo I've paid until the seller presses Payment received or a check sees the award move. After an undo, the hold and the right to cancel apply again. Once the seller confirms the payment, neither member can cancel alone: use Need help?, and a moderator may close the checkout.

When a checkout ends without a sale, the listing goes back on the table, marked stale if its last check is more than 24 hours old. If a check before payment finds that the award is gone, has changed or can't be gifted any more, the checkout ends and the listing is paused instead.

A buyer can have one open checkout at a time, and a listing can be in only one open checkout. When a buyer's checkout expires, that buyer has to wait an hour before starting another checkout for the same listing.

“Transfer verified” means that both members' Hyatt checks saw the award leave the seller's account and a matching gifted award arrive in the buyer's account. It reports what Hyatt showed at the time. It doesn't mean Hyatt will honor the award. If the buyer confirms with I received it instead, the checkout completes as confirmed by the buyer, not verified.

Payments, fees and taxes

Buyers pay sellers directly, outside AwardBroker. AwardBroker doesn't receive, hold or move payments, doesn't confirm that a payment arrived, and doesn't handle refunds or chargebacks. I've paid and Payment received are the members' own statements. The payment service you use has its own terms, and they apply to you.

AwardBroker charges no fees today. If that changes, AwardBroker will update these terms and tell members before any fee applies to them.

You're responsible for any taxes on awards you sell or buy.

What's not allowed

Don't use the service to:

Moderation and closing an account

AwardBroker may pause or remove listings, close checkouts, and suspend or close accounts when it believes someone broke these terms or the law, put another member at risk, or harmed the service. It may do this without notice. AwardBroker isn't obliged to monitor listings or checkouts.

You can stop using AwardBroker at any time. To delete your account, write to the address at the end of these terms. The privacy policy explains what is kept when another member's checkout depends on it. The sections on payments, problems between members, disclaimers, limits on liability, indemnity, and governing law and courts still apply after an account closes, and so do your commitments under Listing an award and Buying an award for any checkout that was open.

Problems between members

A sale is an agreement between the buyer and the seller, who arrange the payment and the gift between themselves. Each of them can hold the other to the commitments under Listing an award and Buying an award. AwardBroker isn't an agent or fiduciary for either of them.

If something goes wrong in a checkout, use Need help?. AwardBroker may review the checkout's record and its Hyatt checks, and a moderator may close the checkout. AwardBroker isn't required to settle disagreements between members, and it isn't responsible for what another member does or fails to do.

You release Award Brokers, Inc. from claims arising from a dispute with another member, to the extent the law allows. This release doesn't cover AwardBroker's own fraud, gross negligence or willful misconduct. If you're a California resident, you waive California Civil Code section 1542, which says: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.”

Your content and AwardBroker's software

Your listings, payment details and support messages stay yours. You allow AwardBroker to store, show and use them to run the service. If you send suggestions, AwardBroker may use them without owing you anything.

The service, its software, and the AwardBroker name and logo belong to Award Brokers, Inc. These terms let you use the service as they describe and give you no other rights. Don't copy, modify or reverse engineer the website or the extension, except where the law allows it. Open-source parts of the service come with their own licenses, listed in the third-party notices.

Changes to the service

AwardBroker may change, pause or stop any part of the service at any time, for example when Hyatt changes its website. Checks depend on Hyatt's website and can be wrong, late or unavailable.

Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, Award Brokers, Inc. disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. AwardBroker doesn't promise that the service will work without interruption or error, that a check is accurate or current, that a listed award exists, can be gifted or will be honored by Hyatt, or that another member will pay or deliver.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Award Brokers, Inc. and its officers, employees and agents aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, awards, points or accounts, arising from the service or these terms, even if told they were possible. Their total liability for all claims about the service is limited to the greater of US$100 and the fees you paid AwardBroker in the 12 months before the claim.

Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against Award Brokers, Inc. because you broke these terms or the law, or acted fraudulently, you'll cover its resulting losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, except where AwardBroker caused them. AwardBroker will tell you about the claim and may handle its own defense.

Changes to these terms

AwardBroker may update these terms. The date at the top shows when the current version took effect. For a significant change, AwardBroker will tell members by email or on the website before it takes effect. A change doesn't apply to a checkout that was already open. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you agree to the updated terms.

Governing law and courts

Delaware law governs these terms and any dispute about the service, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go only to the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and Award Brokers, Inc. agree to their jurisdiction. If you live somewhere whose consumer laws give you rights that these terms can't take away, you keep those rights.

General

These terms are the whole agreement between you and Award Brokers, Inc. about the service. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If AwardBroker doesn't enforce a part right away, it can still enforce it later. You can't transfer your rights under these terms; AwardBroker can transfer them to a company that takes over the service. Members aren't AwardBroker's employees, agents or partners.
